Terms of Service
These terms cover using this website and our products. Everything we offer is currently free. The DAWN public beta is time-limited and expires on 30 September 2026. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away your statutory rights.

01This agreement
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Marya Labs ("we", "us"). They apply when you visit maryalabs.com, download our software, or contact us.
Some things are covered by separate documents, which form part of this agreement where they apply to you:
- The DAWN End User Licence Agreement governs the DAWN software.
- The MeterStack End User Licence Agreement governs MeterStack.
- The Public Beta Terms apply to the DAWN beta.
- The Acceptable Use Policy sets out what you may not do.
- The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
If a product licence conflicts with these terms about that product, the product licence wins.
02Who can use our products
You must be at least 16 years old. DAWN can operate your computer and requires your own paid accounts with third-party AI providers, so it is not suitable for children.
If you are using our products for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.
You must not use our products if UK sanctions or export controls prohibit us from supplying you.
03What we provide
- DAWN — an AU/VST3 plugin with an accompanying desktop application, for macOS on Apple Silicon, working with Ableton Live 12. Currently in public beta.
- MeterStack — a free AU/VST3 metering and analysis plugin for macOS.
- This website — product information, downloads, and support.
We describe our products as accurately as we can, but software specifications change. System requirements, supported hosts, and features may differ between versions.
04Price and future changes
At the date of these terms, everything we offer is free of charge. The DAWN public beta is free, and MeterStack is free.
We may introduce paid versions, paid tiers, or licence keys for future releases. If we do:
- We will not retroactively charge you for a build you already downloaded under free terms.
- We will publish the Purchase and Refund Terms that apply before taking any payment.
- You are never automatically enrolled in a paid plan. Any charge requires you to actively agree to it.
05The DAWN beta is time-limited
We are telling you this before you download rather than after, because you should be able to decide whether a time-limited tool is worth building a workflow around.
Beta software is provided as it is. It may contain defects, behave unexpectedly, or change substantially between versions. Full detail is in the Public Beta Terms.
06Your music stays yours
We claim no ownership of anything you make. Your projects, recordings, arrangements, and finished tracks are yours. Using our software does not give us any licence to your work, and we do not receive it — nothing you create passes through our servers.
Material generated with the assistance of AI raises questions about ownership and originality that are not settled in law and are not ours to answer. Those are covered in the AI Use and Output Notice.
07Feedback
If you send us feedback, bug reports, or suggestions, you give us permission to use them to improve our products, without obligation or payment to you. This does not give us rights over any music or other creative work you happen to include with a report.
You are not obliged to send us anything, and you should not send us confidential material.
08Our intellectual property
The DAWN and MeterStack software, this website, and the Marya Labs name and branding belong to us or our licensors. The product licences give you permission to use the software; they do not transfer ownership.
Our products include open-source components under their own licences, which are acknowledged on the Third-Party Licences page. Nothing here restricts your rights under those licences.
09Website availability
We do not guarantee this website will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it, including downloads, without notice.
You must not attempt to interfere with the website, gain unauthorised access to it, or place unreasonable load on it. If you want to test our security, please read the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy first — it explains how to do that without us treating it as an attack.
10Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to our products if you materially breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.
You can stop using our products at any time by uninstalling them. You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time under the Privacy Policy.
11Liability
Our liability is addressed in full in the Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability. Two points belong here as well:
- We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude.
- If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that nothing in this agreement takes away. Where these terms conflict with those rights, your statutory rights prevail.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will give reasonable notice, by email where we hold your address for that purpose.
If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using our products. Changes do not apply retrospectively to anything that has already happened.
13Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer resident outside the UK, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Please contact us at support@maryalabs.io before starting any formal dispute. Most things are quicker to resolve by email.
