DAWN Public Beta Terms

DAWN is pre-release software. It will have bugs, it may change substantially, and this build stops running on 30 September 2026. We would rather you knew all of that before you built a workflow around it.

01This build expires

Expiry: 30 September 2026

The current DAWN public beta build stops running after this date. The date is compiled into the software; it is not a licence check we can extend remotely.

We publish this prominently because a time-limited tool is a different proposition from a permanent one, and you should be able to weigh that up before you install it — not discover it in the middle of a session.

We intend to release further versions, but we do not promise to, and we do not promise a replacement will be free. Your projects and audio are held by your DAW and on your own machine, so they are unaffected by expiry.

Practical advice: do not accept a deadline that depends on DAWN still working, and keep your sessions in a state another engineer could open without it.

02What "beta" means here

This is not a marketing label. It means the following things are all true and expected:

  • It contains defects, including ones we do not know about.
  • It may behave unpredictably, particularly in combinations of macOS version, Ableton version, and third-party plugins we have not tested.
  • Features may change, be reworked, or be removed between versions.
  • Settings and stored data may not carry over between versions.
  • An update may make something that worked stop working.
  • The agent may misunderstand you and do something you did not want.

03No service level

There is no service level agreement, no uptime commitment, no guaranteed support response time, and no committed roadmap.

We do read support email at support@maryalabs.io and we do fix things. We just are not promising when.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the beta at any time, for everyone or for an individual participant.

04What we ask of you

  • Back up your work. This is the important one. Software that makes changes to a live session can lose work, and a backup is the only thing that reliably prevents it.
  • Do not use the beta as the only tool in a workflow you cannot afford to have interrupted.
  • Read the DAWN EULA on Mac control before enabling it, and think about what else is on the machine.
  • Tell us when something breaks. A short description of what you did and what happened is genuinely useful.

05Feedback and reports

Feedback you send us may be used to improve DAWN, without obligation or payment to you. That covers bug reports, feature suggestions, and comments on how it behaves.

It does not cover your music. If you send us a project file or an audio excerpt to help diagnose something, we use it for that and nothing else, and we do not acquire any rights in it.

Please do not send us anything confidential, or anything belonging to a client, without their permission.

06Talking about the beta

This is a public beta. You are free to talk about it, post about it, and show it in videos. We would ask only that you make clear you are showing pre-release software, so nobody judges the finished product by a bug you hit.

If we ever share something with you privately and marked as confidential, please treat it that way.

07Risk and liability

The beta is provided free of charge and as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and we are not liable for lost work, lost time, missed deadlines, or costs you incur with your AI provider.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected, including where free digital content damages your device or data.

The DAWN EULA and the Disclaimer contain the full position and also apply.
